Extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves has a beneficial effect on our health in various ways. In traditional Chinese medicine, ginkgo leaf has been used for over 5,000 years to support health. The active ingredients in ginkgo leaf include flavonoids (flavone glycosides), bilobalides, and ginkgolides (terpene lactones). The active ingredients of plants are mostly located within the cells. However, plant cells are surrounded by tough, indigestible cell walls (made of cellulose).
