However, it cannot distinguish between a previous infection and a current infection. The result is available within minutes. The test requires only a small drop of blood to detect antibodies against Helicobacter Pylori ("stomach ulcer" bacteria). This bacterium is generally easily treated with one or more antibiotics, often in combination with antacids. Stomach-Check® is recommended for: 1. Complaints (such as (vague) pain in the stomach area, nausea, bloating, loss of appetite and sometimes vomiting) 2. A suspicion of the presence of the bacteria. 2. In addition, it is an excellent test to check after treatment whether the bacteria are completely gone. After a confirmed infection and antibiotic treatment, it takes an average of up to six months for the antibodies to disappear from the blood. Maag-check® is a quick and easy test to rule out the presence of the bacteria after this period. It is recommended to repeat the test twice a year for a previous infection. You can easily do this at home. Antibiotic treatment does not guarantee that the Helicobacter Pylori bacteria will not resurface.
